New trademark application suggests Japan rumors are true.
According to a Digital Trends report, Nintendo has recently filed a new trademark application relating to the N64 console, controllers, and games. For the unfamiliar, the 64-bit console included fan favorites like GoldenEye, Banjo-Kazooie, Super Mario 64, and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
Although no guarantee until Nintendo makes it official, with E3 (think Fashion Week for gamers) on the horizon, the timing of the application would definitely set the stage for a large announcement.
If you’re looking to still get your hands on the 8-bit original, and preferably without paying exorbitant after-market prices, Nintendo has announced the re-release of the NES Classic on June 29.
